The coaching technique that I use is trademarked as Multi Level Neuroprocessing (MLNP) and it harnesses the power of the nervous system to bring about powerful, permanent change. Information in the nervous system travels from the brain to the body (top down), and from the body to the brain (bottom up).
MLNP is a behavioural change process integrating top-down and bottom-up methods.
MLNP is grounded, bottom-up, being aware of what is going on in the body (somatic mindfulness). The body is our connection to reality.
MLNP also uses top-down inquiry to help dissolve the fixed, narrow ideas about others and the world that limit our life.
At the intersection of these two processes: the awareness of the body’s reactions simultaneously with awareness of emotional responses and thoughts, the client makes meaning of their internal world.
In an MLNP session a client will not have only a mental experience, nor only a bodily awareness; he will experience the coming together of
- the body’s direct sensory and emotional responses to internal and external events,
- the mind’s attention to and synthesis of the information gathered by the senses, and
- the level of congruence between these channels of experience and their integration to form the awareness of a particular state of being, a situation, or a problem.

What is MLNP™?
MLNP™ (Multi-Level Neuro-Processing™) is a structured, evidence-informed healing process grounded in more than twelve theories of neuroscience. It works directly with the nervous system rather than relying on conversation or cognitive analysis. Although the theoretical foundations are complex, the practical application is simple, gentle, and highly effective.
How does MLNP™ differ from traditional talk therapy?
Traditional approaches focus primarily on talking through experiences, with the belief that insight leads to healing. MLNP™ is based on the understanding that insight alone does not necessarily result in lasting change. Instead of focusing on the client’s story, MLNP™ engages the body and nervous system directly to facilitate healing.
Why is there so little talking during an MLNP™ session?
MLNP™ is intentionally non-verbal. While verbal communication dominates everyday life, many critical experiences—especially those related to trauma—are processed through the non-verbal language of the body. MLNP™ works with this natural biological process, allowing healing to occur without extensive discussion.
What happens during an MLNP™ session?
During a session, the client is guided to develop awareness of physical sensations in the body. This awareness allows access to autonomous nervous system responses that operate beyond conscious thought. Through mindful attention, spontaneous sensory reactions and emotions are gently explored, enabling the nervous system to restore balance.
What types of issues can MLNP™ help with?
MLNP™ supports the processing and healing of experiences associated with trauma, stress, fear, shame, helplessness, emotional pain, and life-threatening events. It is particularly effective when individuals feel stuck, disconnected, or unable to fully re-engage with life.
How does trauma affect the nervous system?
When a person experiences threat or trauma, the body mobilises significant energy for survival through fight, flight, freeze, or faint responses. If these responses are not completed, surplus survival energy may remain stored in the nervous system. This unresolved energy can interfere with emotional regulation, wellbeing, and daily functioning.
How does MLNP™ address unresolved trauma?
MLNP™ gently facilitates the processing of surplus survival energy by allowing the nervous system to complete its natural healing cycle. Through focused, mindful awareness, the nervous system is supported in regaining equilibrium without forcing or re-living traumatic events.
What can I expect the session environment to be like?
MLNP™ sessions are generally quiet and calm. Both the client and the facilitator may remain silent for extended periods. Many clients report that this quiet, body-based approach leads to relief and meaningful change more quickly than traditional talk-based methods.
Who is responsible for the healing process?
Healing is not performed by either the client or the practitioner. Healing is understood to come from God, who created human beings to be whole. The practitioner’s role is to skilfully facilitate the MLNP™ process and create the conditions in which healing can occur.
How many sessions are typically required?
Most clients require between three and seven MLNP™ sessions, depending on the depth and complexity of their concerns.
How long is each session?
Each MLNP™ session lasts approximately 90 minutes.
