Neurobased Anxiety coaching

“How you handle anxiety is the most important quality which will determine whether you will be successful or not”.  Robert Greene – Author of the best-selling book ‘Mastery’

The most pronounced causes for anxiety are uncertainty and complexity.  It is something we must navigate in our everyday lives no matter who we are.  When we feel anxious, we are feeling frightened, confused, and overwhelmed by life itself, rather than by anyone or anything in particular on a conscious level. An Bakkes – Author of the book “Embracing Anxiety”.

Anxiety is a physiological and emotional response to what is perceived in our environment by what we see, hear, feel, smell and/or taste.

Subconsciously, we have a huge database of needs, fears, values, convictions and pain – all collected through past experiences. These past experiences could be a single traumatic event, or repeated everyday occurrences.  This information is stored in our nervous system as procedural memory and are brought to the surface by information coming in through our senses.  The mind is a prediction machine to keep us safe and it will always guide the body and mind to react according to the available information.

Common physiological and emotional responses when in a state of anxiety:

  • Panic, fear, worry, concern, rage, anger, irritation, frustration.
  • Increased blood pressure, heart rate, fuel availability and oxygen circulation to vital organs.
  • Decreased digestion, immune response, insulin activity and relational ability,

A constant state of anxiety can lead to:

  • Memory problems and inability to concentrate.
  • Relationship difficulties.
  • Insomnia.
  • Inability to relax.
  • A sense of loneliness and isolation.
  • Prolonged periods of tightness in chest, rapid heartbeat, loss of sex drive, shallow breathing, teeth-grinding.
  • Not performing at your best.
  • Procrastination.

Neurobased Anxiety Coaching helps you to break free from automatic responses to your environment that are based on past experiences by removing the information from the mind’s ‘database’.  The change takes place on a physical and emotional level.  The procedural memory (stored in your mind and nervous system) is changed, and the effects are immediate.  Your subconscious reaction to the same event will now be appropriate to what is happening in front of you right now, not taking information into account that is inaccurate, outdated and irrelevant.

I use a blended approach of coaching and counselling trademarked as The Neuro-Coach Method™ to rewire your life, bringing you to a place of focus, creativity and flow.

Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary.
